Why your views matter

East Sussex County Council has contracts that commission the provision of Home Care, Lead Providers, HMP Lewes and Extra Care for Local Authority-funded clients and their carers in East Sussex.

Last year we started the process of reviewing and updating the service models by consulting and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders including home and extra care providers, care workers, clients and carers to determine the new service model and procurement approach.

The feedback and ongoing engagement with key stakeholders has been used to develop updated service models. This work was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently we have reviewed the service models to inform the specification for these services.

The new models strike a balance between commissioning the outcomes we need to achieve for our clients and supporting service providers to deliver these. Before we finalise the specification and contracts, we want to ensure that providers have a chance to respond to the models.

What happens next?

We will be publishing the invitation to apply to the Approved List, along with mini-tenders for Home Care, Lead Providers and HMP Lewes in January, with Extra Care following in June 2022. We are asking Providers to register your interest for any of these opportunities through the South East Shared Service PortalBy registering, you will receive alerts on any information published in relation to the home care approved list.

The new contracts will take effect from January 2023.
