Draft East Sussex SEND Strategy 2022-25

Closed 24 Oct 2022

Opened 3 Oct 2022

Overview

East Sussex County Council are running this survey (or ‘consultation’) about the draft of our new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Strategy for 2022-2025. We want your views on our draft Strategy.

The strategy sets out the priorities and aspirations for the Council and its partners to develop high quality services across education, health, and social care to support children and young people and their families. The draft Strategy sets out our commitment to strengthening relationships through genuine and meaningful co-production with children, young people and families. We also want to bring more clarity to roles and responsibilities of all partners across education and health to communicate more effectively with service users.

Please read the DRAFT Strategy before responding to the survey.  This will provide useful context when you are giving your feedback.

Why your views matter

Developing the draft strategy

Engagement events held between February and June 2022 were supported by:

  • East Sussex Parent Carer Forum
  • Young SEND ambassadors & Amazing Futures groups
  • Standards and Learning Effectiveness Service (SLES)

The events gathered feedback about SEND priorities for East Sussex from parent carers, children and young people and school leaders.

You can learn more about how the SEND Strategy was developed here.

Consultation

Through the engagement events already held, East Sussex and its partners have gathered a wide range of views. We’d love to now hear from you. Please complete this survey. All feedback you give will be considered as part of the consultation process and will inform our priorities over the next few years

What happens next

The final strategy including all relevant feedback will be published following this consultation and final approval from the SEND Strategy Governance Board.  Look out for information and events on the Local Offer website.
