Draft East Sussex, South Downs and Brighton & Hove Waste and Minerals Sites Plan - Regulation 19 Consultation

Closed 23 Dec 2015

Opened 28 Oct 2015

East Sussex County Council, Brighton & Hove City Council and the South Downs National Park Authority have responsibility for planning for the future management of waste and production of minerals within their administrative areas. The three Authorities are working in partnership to produce a joint waste and minerals plan for the area of East Sussex and Brighton & Hove and part of the South Downs National Park.

Following detailed appraisals of the potential sites, a public consultation on a shortlist of sites occurred in summer 2014. Responses to the consultation have been considered by the Authorities and led to further changes to the proposed sites. Following the changes, the Authorities have now published what they consider to be a ‘sound’ Plan.

Comments are now invited on the ‘soundness’ of the Plan and whether it is legally compliant. Comments received will be submitted, together with the Plan, to be considered by an independent Planning Inspector during a Public Examination process.
