Overview

Take part in our short survey and help us understand stakeholder awareness of the Healthy Start Scheme and what we can do to improve take up locally.

This survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Some of questions aim to help us understand your awareness of the scheme, but please be reassured that this isn't a test!

If you need the survey in another format or language please get in touch.

Background

Healthy Start is a means-tested government voucher programme that helps pregnant women and those with young children in low income families to purchase healthy food and make healthy food choices. Despite the positive impact that the vouchers can have on a household’s budget and access to a healthy diet, in East Sussex almost half of eligible families do not take up the offer.

East Sussex Public Health and partners are inviting organisations and services who work with pregnant women and families with children under four years to complete a short survey. The aim of this survey is to better understand:

  • awareness and knowledge of the Healthy Start Scheme;
  • If, and how, the Healthy Start scheme is currently being promoted;
  • how we can support local organisations and services to raise awareness of the Healthy Start Scheme with eligible families; and
  • the views of stakeholders on how we can increase the uptake of Healthy Start by eligible families across East Sussex.

We will use your feedback to develop a plan for improving understanding and take up locally.
