Creation of the Citizens' Panel
Overview
The Adult Social Care Citizens’ Panel is a group of clients, carers and residents who work with the department on a variety of topics. Panel members give feedback, co-develop ideas and co-produce policies and services. The panel is a sub-group of the People Bank and offers another opportunity to shape Adult Social Care services.
The Citizens’ Panel was first set up in April 2022 to help develop the Adult Social Care strategy which was published in 2023. The group helped agree the six priorities outlined in the strategy, which sets out a plan to enable care, support and independence for adults across East Sussex.
Now that the strategy has launched, the panel will come together 4 times a year to review how strategy actions are being taken forward, co-develop and feedback on a range of Adult Social Care policies and services.
Panel members are broadly representative of our clients and the local population and are located across East Sussex. Many have experience of care and support from different teams within Adult Social Care.
Involvement with the panel gives members the opportunity to gain new skills and experience while making a difference to services that support thousands of people.
