Overview

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 19 (1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE is proposing to reorganise and enlarge the following maintained special school with effect from 1 September 2027.

Grove Park School, Church Road, Crowborough TN6 1BN

The proposal is to:

  1. lower the school’s age range from 4-19 to 2-19 to establish nursery provision for eight full-time equivalent (fte) two- and three-year-olds, and
  2. enlarge the premises at the school’s Church Road site to accommodate 60 secondary age pupils. The secondary phase is currently co-located at Beacon Academy in North Beeches Rd, Crowborough TN6 2AS.

East Sussex County Council is publishing the proposal.  The Council will implement the proposal.  The proposal is not related to any other school organisation proposal which has been or is about to be published.

East Sussex County Council will determine the statutory notice within two months of the end of the representation period.  If the Council fails to determine the notice within this time, it will pass all relevant material to the Schools Adjudicator who will determine the notice.
