A264 Blackham 40mph Speed Limit - Formal Consultation
Overview
As part of East Sussex County Council's Speed Management programme, the A264 at Blackham has been identified for a 40mph speed limit.
We have carried out a number of investigations and initial consultations have been conducted. Based on the feedback received, we are now formally advertising changes to the speed limit.
Why your views matter
The A264 at Blackham was identified as a priority route following a review of the number of killed and serious injury (KSI) crashes across the County. After careful consideration with Sussex Police and Withyham Parish Council, a proposal was developed to reduce the existing national speed limit through Blackham to 40mph.
We want to hear your views on the proposal and whether you support the changes.
The proposed extents of the reduced speed limit are shown in the drawings in the 'Related documents' section at the bottom of this page.
Please take the time to look at the drawing carefully and provide any feedback you may have.
What happens next
After the closing date of 11 June 2018 we will process all responses.
The level of support will determine the outcome of the proposal. If there are no objections the 40mph speed limit will be introduced and the draft TRO made permanent. If objections are received, we will need to consider these and present a report to Planning Committee.
