Overview

East Sussex County Council, as a local planning authority is required by section 18 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 to prepare a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). This draft Statement of Community Involvement sets out the Council's policy in relation to public engagement in the preparation and review of planning documents and determination of planning applications.

The first SCI was adopted in 2006, followed by revised versions in 2013 and 2017.This document is the draft of the fourth version which has been updated to incorporate updated legislation and reflect changes in national planning policy. At this time, views are being sought on the content of the draft document.
