Eastbourne Parking Review 2019 - informal consultation

Closed 19 Jul 2019

Opened 28 Jun 2019

Overview

We receive many requests for new or changes to existing parking and waiting restrictions in the borough of Eastbourne. To manage these and make effective use of our budgets we have a priority ranking system. All requests are considered and locations given the highest priority are progressed as part of our regular reviews.

The proposals for this review are shown in the drawings in the 'Related documents' section at the bottom of this page. Please take the time to look at these carefully and tell us your views by completing the survey.

At this informal stage of the review we are looking for your views on the proposals and whether you support the changes.

In particular we would like to know:

  • which road and drawing number you are commenting on,
  • whether you support or do not support the proposals, and your reasons, and
  • any other comments you may have.

As part of this consultation we are also looking at changing the permit zone boundaries in Eastbourne town centre to enable us to better manage the existing schemes.

If the changes go ahead zones A, G, and S will be split in to several smaller areas. Maps showing the current zones and the proposed zones can be seen in the 'Related documents' section at the bottom of this page. Please complete the survey to tell us whether you support or do not support the changes.

The consultation period runs from 28 June to 19 July 2019. All comments need to be received by 19 July.

After the closing date we will process all responses. East Sussex County Council takes data protection seriously. For further information please see the Privacy Notices at the bottom of this page.

The level of support will determine the outcome of the proposals. If there are a number of suggested alternatives, these will be considered and included in the final proposals where appropriate.

If the proposals go forward then the draft Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) will be written and advertised allowing 21 days for formal consultation. If there are no objections the restrictions will be introduced and the draft TRO made permanent. If objections are received, we will need to consider these and present a report to Planning Committee.

Why We Are Consulting

The proposals follow requests for changes to existing parking controls or where local residents or businesses want new controls to be introduced. There are also areas where safety or access issues have been identified and it is felt necessary to introduce restrictions such as yellow lines.

We want to hear your views on the proposals. Your feedback will help us decide whether the proposals need to be modified before formal changes are advertised.

We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact us by email to parking.escc@eastsussex.gov.uk or telephone 01323 466244.

Thank you for taking the time to look at these proposals.
