The East Sussex (B2123 The Drove and Falmer Village) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

Closed 10 May 2024

Opened 19 Apr 2024

We are proposing to introduce a 30mph speed limit on the B2123 The Drove at Falmer.

At the same time, it is proposed to introduce a 20mph speed limit on Park Street, South Street, and East Street. And Mill Street, Middle Street and Ridge Road in Falmer village.

The proposal will give the B2123 The Drove restricted road status (30mph), improve road safety, and align the speed limit with the average speed of traffic.

Initial consultation have been carried out. Based on the feedback recieved, we are now formally advertising the changes to the speed limit.

Why your views matter

What happens next

After the closing date of 10 May 2024 we will review the responses. The level of support for the proposal will determine the outcome.

If we do not recieve any objections, the restrictions will be introduced, and the draft Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) made permanent.

If objections are recieved, we will need to consider them and present a report to our Planning Committee.

Thank you for your interest in the consultation and for taking the time to look at the proposal.
