Opened 1 Dec 2023

Results expected 24 Apr 2024

Overview

East Sussex County Council wants to consult young people aged 14-18 on how they use East Sussex Libraries. This will help us improve the services we offer to young people, particularly around using libraries to study.

We're asking what library services you already use, what services you want to use in future and what you feel will improve your library experience.

How to take part in this consultation

The consultation runs for ten weeks from Monday 4 December 2023 to Sunday 18 February 2024.

We will do all we can to make it as easy as possible for everyone to have their say. There are a number of ways you can give us your views:

  • By completing the consultation online (scroll down this page)
  • By picking up a copy of the consultation at any East Sussex Library
  • By printing a copy of the survey from our website https://consultation.eastsussex.gov.uk/

Completed printed consultations can be returned to any East Sussex Library or posted back to us at:

FAO Tamsyn Sutton
Bibliographic House, Windsor Way, Polegate BN26 6QF

Why your views matter

For us to know how we are doing, we need to hear from you. What you tell us will be used to make our services better.

Whether or not you are a regular library user, we welcome your views and are keen to find out what you like and dislike about libraries, and what you think should change.

For this consultation we want to hear from young people aged 14-18. Parents/guardians and carers are welcome to submit a consultation on behalf of a young person, please indicate in the consultation that you are doing so.

What happens next

Once the consultation is completed, East Sussex Libraries will review your suggestions and will keep working with young people and partners to make positive changes wherever possible.

Focus groups, workshops and activities will be taking place across libraries between December 2023-February 2024, which will also form part of the consultation before we begin any action on your feedback.
