Share your experience of mental health and emotional wellbeing support for those over 60

Closes 7 Dec 2025

Opened 27 Oct 2025

Overview

Are you an East Sussex resident who is aged 60 and over? Or are you a younger person who has helped someone aged 60 or over to get support for their mental health and emotional wellbeing?

If you are, we'd like to hear about your experience of managing your mental health and emotional wellbeing, and accessing services to support yourself or someone you know.

Why your view matters

East Sussex has a wide range of services available to support people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. It's important to make sure that these services meet the needs of everyone living in East Sussex.

Building on a survey recently run on this topic by the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, we'd like to hear in this survey from all residents aged 60 and above, even if you haven't accessed support for yourself or someone else. We would also like to hear from younger people who have helped someone aged 60 or over to get this support.

What you tell us will help us make improvements to how information on local mental health and emotional wellbeing services is presented. It will also identify what can be done to improve awareness of these services.

Please answer as honestly as possible - there are no right or wrong answers to any of the questions. You're free to withdraw from the survey at any time before clicking the final ‘submit’ button.

A prize draw will be held for all those over the age of 18 who choose to take part and provide their contact details. There will be a chance to win one of five LovetoShop vouchers, worth £30. You can read the privacy information for the prize draw here.

Taking part

The survey takes up to 10 minutes to complete. You can use the ‘Save and come back later…’ button at the end of each page if you don’t want to complete the survey all in one go. A summary of the survey is given in the section called 'Take a look at the survey topics before you start' near the bottom of this page.

If you need support to take part or need the survey printed and posted to you, in large print or on coloured paper, or in another format, please get in touch using the contact details provided.

We understand that this survey may potentially bring up difficult emotions for some people. Please visit East Sussex mental health directory | East Sussex County Council for a list of services offering support.

Next steps

The aim of this survey is to help us identify where improvements can be made to how information on local services is presented, and identify what can be done to improve awareness of these services.

What you tell us will be analysed and form part of a publicly available report on the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of older people in East Sussex. It will be made available on our Joint strategic needs assessment website

Take a look at the survey topics before you start:

There are three pages in the main part of the survey, with up to nine questions. If a question isn't relevant to you, or you don’t want to answer, please skip it and move on to the next one.

The topics are:

  • your experience of seeking mental health and emotional wellbeing support for yourself, or someone else over 60;
  • your views on this support, if you have accessed it; and
  • your views if you have never accessed this support.

Privacy information: This survey is anonymous and we don't ask you to provide any personal information. Please ensure that any comments you make don't include any names or personal details of you or anyone else. You can find our privacy notice here, which explains how your data will be stored and processed.
