Eastbourne Parking Review 2016 - informal consultation

Closed 4 Nov 2016

Opened 14 Oct 2016

Overview

We receive many requests for new or changes to existing parking and waiting restrictions in Eastbourne. To manage these and make effective use of our budgets we have a priority ranking system. All requests are considered and locations given the highest priority are progressed as part of our regular reviews.

The proposals for this review are shown in the drawings in the 'Related documents' section at the bottom of this page. Please take the time to look at these carefully and tell us your views by completing the survey.

At this informal stage of the Eastbourne review we are looking for your views on the proposals.

In particular we would like to know:

  • which road and drawing number you are commenting on,
  • whether you support or do not support the proposals, and your reasons, and
  • any other comments you may have.

The consultation period runs from 14 October to 4 November 2016. All comments need to be received by 4 November.

Why your views matter

The proposals follow requests for changes to existing parking controls or where local residents or businesses want new controls to be introduced. There are also areas where safety or access issues have been identified and it is felt necessary to introduce restrictions such as yellow lines.

We want to hear your views on the proposals. Your feedback will help us decide whether the proposals need to be modified before formal changes are advertised.

We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact us by email to parking.escc@eastsussex.gov.uk or telephone 01323 466244.

Thank you for taking the time to look at these proposals.

What happens next

After the closing date of 4 November 2016 we will process all responses.

The level of support will determine the outcome of the proposals. If there are a number of suggested alternatives, these will be considered and included in the final proposals.

If the proposals go forward then the draft Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) will be written and advertised allowing 21 days for formal consultation. If there are no objections the restrictions will be introduced and the draft TRO made permanent. If objections are received, we will need to consider these and present a report to Planning Committee.
