Lilybank Farm, London Road, Battle - 40mph speed limit

Closed 11 Mar 2022

Opened 18 Feb 2022

Overview

The consultation opens on 18 February 2022 and close on 11 March 2022

As part of the proposed (50 unit) development of Lilybank Farm. The proposal is to extend the 40mph speed restriction past the site access to achieve a full DMRB 60mph stopping sight distance (215m) prior to the proposed development junction. This has been designed to accommodate vehicles decelerating from 60mph at the 60mph/40mph interface providing an acceptable forward visibility to the proposed junction.

It is proposed that the extension will provide additional time and distance from the speed change to these hazards thus reducing driver risk.

The proposed speed restriction extension will promote lower driving speeds at the existing Virgins Lane Junction and the proposed development junction where oncoming vehicles will have decelerated prior to reaching these locations.
