Share your views on the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2025
Overview
We want to know what you think about our assessment of the needs of the population of East Sussex for pharmacy services.
Why your view matters
Every Health and Wellbeing Board in England has a statutory responsibility to publish and update a statement of the need for pharmaceutical services in its area. This is known as a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).
The aim of the assessment is to set out the current pharmaceutical services available in East Sussex, identify any gaps in services and make recommendations on future development.
It will be used by the NHS to decide whether to approve applications for new pharmacies in the county, and by commissioners to identify local health needs that could be addressed by pharmacy services.
Taking part
In this survey you will be offered the option of commenting on either the executive summary or the entire PNA document. You can view the PNA using the link below, and the executive summary is also available to read within the survey. For any enquiries, please get in touch using the contact details included on this webpage.
You can share your feedback by filling in the survey, which closes on 1 August 2025. The survey questions take roughly 15 minutes to complete. You can use the ‘Save and come back later…’ button at the end of each page if you don’t want to complete the survey all in one go. A summary of the survey is given in the 'Take a look at the survey topics before you start:' section near the bottom of this page.
If you need support to take part or need the survey printed and posted to you, in large print or on coloured paper, or in another format please get in touch using the contact details provided.
Help and advice for people with a learning disability: If you need help to have your say, please ask someone you trust, such as a support worker or carer. If you don’t have anyone to help you, please read our "Help to get involved" leaflet below.
What happens next?
We will consider everything people tell us in the consultation and the evidence they provide to support their argument. Where there is clear evidence or feedback, we will update the PNA to reflect what people have told us.
The Health and Wellbeing Board will consider the final draft of the PNA at its meeting on 23 September 2025. You will be able to find the agenda for the meeting here a week before the meeting.
