People Bank: Get involved and help shape adult social care services

Closes 1 Jul 2023

Opened 1 Mar 2021

Overview

Could you help improve and develop adult social care services? Join the People Bank today to get involved and have your say!

If you’ve got lived experience of getting support from Adult Social Care, or care for someone who has, we’d love you to join our People Bank and add your voice to the mix of people helping to shape our services.

This is your chance to get your voice heard, and use your knowledge and experience to help influence the way that social care for adults is provided in East Sussex. You do not need to be currently receiving services from us in order to join.

Find out what it’s like to get involved and how your contribution can make a difference by reading some of our members’ stories.

The Involvement Matters Team

As well as the People Bank, we have the Involvement Matters Team. They are a group of self-advocates with a learning disability who work together to discuss issues that affect adults with learning disabilities, get involved in making services better and make sure the views of people with a Learning Disability in East Sussex are represented both locally and at a national level.

To find out more read their leaflet. This leaflet is in easy read so may not be accessible for everyone. Please let us know if you need it in another format.

  • Be kept up to date about opportunities to get involved and make a difference.
  • Learn more about adult social care services and how they work.
  • Connect with new people.
  • Develop new skills and grow your confidence.
  • Everyone is welcome and the process is inclusive, allowing you to take part in a way that suits you.

How the People Bank works

You can get involved as much or as little as you want to, from filling in surveys, giving feedback on campaigns, taking part in discussion groups, or sitting on project panels.

We'll match your skills, experience and preferences with the appropriate opportunities and topics in East Sussex as they arise. For example, if you'd like to join workshops or events, and have experience of or interest in housing issues, then we would invite you to attend a housing event if one was being planned.

You don't need to live in the county in order to join, but you should have an interest in how adult social care services are delivered to residents locally. If you have an interest in getting involved with children's services our website contains details on this as well.
