Eastbourne Parking Review 2019 - formal consultation

Closed 15 Nov 2019

Opened 25 Oct 2019

We receive many requests for new or changes to existing parking and waiting restrictions in Eastbourne borough. To manage these and make effective use of our budgets we have a priority ranking system. All requests are considered and locations given the highest priority are progressed as part of our regular reviews.

We have previously carried out informal consultations and based on the feedback received, we are now formally advertising changes to parking controls.

The consultation period runs from 25 October to 15 November 2019. All comments need to be received by 15 November.

East Sussex County Council takes data protection seriously. For further information please see the Privacy Notices at the bottom of this page.

Why We Are Consulting

We want to hear your views on the proposals and whether you support the changes or have any reason for them not being installed.

The proposals for this review are shown in the plans in the 'Related documents' section at the bottom of this page.

Please take the time to look at these carefully and tell us your views by completing the survey.

If you do or do not agree with the proposals you can make a representation. Please note that even if you responded to the initial consultation you will need to tell us if you support or object to the formal proposals. For your representation to be fully considered you must make it in writing and you will need to:

  • tell us which drawing you are objecting to or supporting,
  • explain the reasons or grounds why you are objecting or supporting the change,
  • ensure it is received before the end of the day on 15 November 2019.

What Happens Next

After the closing date of 15 November 2019 we will process all responses.

All representations received, either in support of or objecting to the proposals will be carefully considered. If there are any unresolved objections, we will include them in a report to be presented to Planning Committee.

Anyone who makes a representation may speak at the Planning Committee meeting. We will write to you closer to the time to advise of the meeting date and time. The Committee will consider all objections and will then decide whether to abandon or modify the proposals, or to install them as proposed.

We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact us by email to parking.escc@eastsussex.gov.uk or telephone 01323 466244.

Thank you for your interest in this consultation and for taking the time to look at the proposals.
